Iroquois sculpture usually reflects the mythology, culture & histories of the ‘People of the Longhouses’. Figurative works are often meant to celebrate the guardians of the harvest or what is referred to as the ‘Three Sisters’. Wildlife sculpture is often paying homage to Clan affiliations and other cultural beliefs. Noted for the superior workmanship and attention to detail, Haudenosaunee Art is highly regarded within the First Nations art world.
